MyStart Health review

By Gut Metabolic EditorialUpdated

57/100

Price transparency

What is disclosed before intake, not a clinical rating.

MyStart Health offers online compounded GLP-1 care with clinician access, prescription coordination and medication delivery. Its headline begins at $299 per month, but the chosen medicine and supply period still need a complete quote. The strongest practical reason to read the refund policy is its prescription cutoff: the page describes cancellation before fulfillment while also excluding refunds once a prescription is written.

The verdict

Public offers are available, but a directly comparable ongoing month-to-month total is not established for both molecules. Read the plan and billing qualifications below.

The score beside MyStart Health's name rates how much it tells you before the medical intake — the price, the pharmacy and the terms — not how cheap it is.

What do you get with MyStart Health?

  • Online pre-screening followed by a telehealth consultation with an independent licensed provider, with prescription decisions made after the clinical assessment.
  • Compounded GLP-1 treatment, with a four-week or twelve-week medication supply depending on the plan selected and prescribed.
  • Follow-up appointments, clinician communication, necessary blood work and shipping described in the advertised all-inclusive package.
  • Monthly or three-month automatic billing and shipping arrangements, plus a refill intake that the homepage requires every three months.

How does MyStart Health work?

  1. Distinguish screening from the medical visit

Start with the online health questions, but recognize that pre-qualification does not establish a patient relationship or guarantee a prescription. The medical assessment follows checkout. Before providing payment, ask what the clinician must still review and what happens to the charge if the requested treatment is inappropriate or unavailable in your state.

  2. Clarify the medication and price

The public package is described as GLP-1 care rather than a complete recurring quote for each molecule. Request the exact medicine, formulation, dose and supply in your order. Compare the complete first charge and renewal instead of applying the $299 starting figure to every product or assuming twelve weeks of medicine means twelve monthly payments.

  3. Complete the provider consultation

Provide current medications, treatment history and relevant test results, and explain any previous dose. The provider may need a video visit or more information before deciding. Ask how routine clinical questions and urgent concerns are handled. The platform’s access claims are useful for understanding the service model, but they do not guarantee an individual response time.

  4. Manage refills before processing

The homepage describes automatic billing and shipping, and a refill form every three months. Put the processing date and clinical check-in on your calendar. If stopping, request confirmation before the next prescription is issued. Contact the clinician about treatment changes separately, because canceling payment does not explain how to stop or restart the medication.

How much does MyStart Health cost?

Semaglutide

GLP-1 program from $299/mo; exact semaglutide formulation, term and ongoing month-to-month total not established.

Tirzepatide

GLP-1 program from $299/mo; exact tirzepatide formulation, term and ongoing month-to-month total not established.

Where it operates

Company advertises treatment-dependent access: US online access; confirm current state, provider and pharmacy eligibility.

MyStart advertises a program starting at $299 monthly before discounts, including clinician services, medication, required blood work and shipping. It describes monthly plans and three-month plans with different billing and supply schedules. A complete ongoing month-to-month total for semaglutide and tirzepatide separately is not established by that general headline. Request the molecule-specific order and renewal quote.

  • A monthly option is described as billed and shipped each month; the three-month option is billed every three months with the full supply shipped together. Ask for the exact amount due for the longer term. The cost per month, quantity dispensed and time between card charges are separate pieces of the comparison.
  • The homepage says base-plan pricing does not rise with dose increases, excluding an initial discount. Confirm what constitutes your base plan and whether changing medication creates a different price. A price-lock statement should be read alongside the actual renewal agreement rather than treated as a promise about any future purchase.
  • The refund policy provides a full refund for medical ineligibility when no prescription has been written and no medication shipped. Ask for written confirmation of the provider’s decision and when the refund will post. The homepage’s stated twenty-four to forty-eight-hour timing should not be confused with your bank’s posting time.
  • The same refund policy describes cancellation before processing and shipping, but also lists a written prescription among nonrefundable situations. Because those statements leave an important interval unclear, obtain the applicable cutoff before clinical approval. Do not assume an unshipped order remains refundable simply because you have not received tracking.
  • Completed or partially completed membership periods are excluded from ordinary refunds, and medication returns are not accepted. Resolve questions about eligibility, formulation, included tests and supply before the order proceeds. The service is cash-pay; a clinical package is not an insurance policy or a guarantee that outside care will be covered.

What are MyStart Health's pros and cons?

Pros

  • Explains the difference between the platform and clinical providers

  • Lists broad package inclusions

Cons

  • Molecule-specific recurring quotes remain unclear
  • Refund language needs clarification before prescription issuance
  • Automatic fulfillment requires attention to upcoming dates

The pharmacy behind the medicine

It does not name its pharmacy. MyStart Health does not publicly disclose which compounding pharmacy fills its prescriptions. That is common and it is not an accusation — but it does mean the one thing you would most want to verify about a compounded medicine is the one thing you cannot.

A compounded drug is mixed to order by a pharmacy rather than manufactured and released as a finished product, so the FDA has not reviewed the specific preparation you are prescribed for safety, effectiveness or quality. That is true of every compounded program, including the highest-scoring ones.

What else do people ask about MyStart Health?

Is MyStart a pharmacy?

The company describes itself as a technology platform connecting independent providers and pharmacies. It does not itself prescribe, compound or dispense medication. Ask for the actual clinical practice and dispensing pharmacy assigned to your order, since knowing the service brand alone does not identify who is responsible for your prescription or preparation.

Does $299 include medication?

The homepage describes the starting program as including the prescribed medication, clinician evaluation, follow-ups, necessary blood work and shipping. That does not establish a separate semaglutide or tirzepatide renewal quote for every dose and term. Ask for the complete written order and any exceptions before comparing it with another provider.

How often will I be charged?

The public description distinguishes monthly automatic billing from three-month automatic billing. It also describes four-week and twelve-week supplies. Confirm your selected cycle, actual charge amount and shipment schedule at checkout. Twelve weeks of medicine should not be assumed to mean twelve calendar weeks before every account action or clinical review.

What happens if the clinician does not prescribe?

The policy offers a full refund when a provider finds you medically ineligible and no prescription was issued or medication shipped. Request the decision and refund confirmation. This protection concerns clinical ineligibility; deciding not to finish intake or changing your preference after a prescription is written may be treated differently.

Can I cancel before the package ships?

The refund page describes cancellation before fulfillment, but elsewhere excludes a refund once a prescription is written. Ask support which cutoff applies to your pending order before allowing prescribing to proceed. Cancellation of future renewal and refund of the current charge are separate requests, so obtain clear confirmation for both.

Are the compounded medicines FDA-approved?

MyStart’s medical disclosure states that its compounded formulations have not been FDA-approved or evaluated for safety, effectiveness or manufacturing consistency. It also says they are not substitutes for approved branded products. Discuss the proposed preparation and alternatives with the prescriber rather than interpreting testimonials or a product image as clinical evidence.
