How this magazine works

Editorial policy

The rules we hold ourselves to when we read the research, rank a product, and take a commission.

Every claim is tied to a primary source

Medical and efficacy claims are cited inline to peer-reviewed research or official labeling. We separate mechanism and animal data from outcomes actually demonstrated in humans, and we print the null results and small-sample caveats alongside the positive findings. Where the human evidence for a strain or ingredient is thin, our articles grade it as thin.

We earn affiliate commissions, and we say so on the page

Gut Metabolic earns affiliate commissions: some of the brands on the ranked probiotic board pay us if you buy through our link, at no extra cost to you. That is stated at the top of the board itself, not buried here. We also think our top pick earns the slot on price transparency, formulation and no-prescription access; the write-up beside it gives our reasoning and its trade-offs so you can weigh the argument rather than trust the position. Full detail in our disclosure, and the same accounting applies to the prescription GLP-1 programs we link out to — every one of which now has its own review, because sending a reader to a company we have never written up is not something a disclosure can fix. Who writes all of this is on the about page.

Non-partners get the same write-up and the same button

Every brand on a comparison here gets a strengths section, a trade-offs section and an outbound link to its own site, whether or not it pays us. Partner links are marked sponsored; non-partner links never are. A comparison that only links to the sponsor is not a comparison.

What we will not do

We do not invent prices, scores or study results; where a brand does not publish a price, our card says “pricing varies” rather than guessing. We do not describe a supplement as equivalent to a GLP-1 medication, because it is not. We do not soften a product's trade-offs because it pays us — the cons printed under our partner are the same cons we would print if it did not.

Corrections

Prices and formulations change without notice; we re-verify against the brand's own page and date what we checked. If something here is wrong, email info@gutmetabolic.com and we will correct it and note the change.

This is not medical advice

Nothing here diagnoses, treats or prescribes. Supplements and compounded GLP-1 medication both carry real trade-offs; talk to a licensed clinician before starting either, especially if you take other medication.
