Calibrate review

Price transparency

What is disclosed before intake, not a clinical rating.

Calibrate is a coaching-led prescription program for people who want structured help with food, movement, sleep and emotional health. Its clinicians prescribe branded GLP-1 medicines rather than compounded versions. At $199 per month before medication and labs, it is a higher-cost care membership, so its value depends on whether you want the ongoing coaching and can afford the full treatment bill.

The verdict

Calibrate shows a price before the medical intake, but the advertised figure comes with conditions the headline leaves out, or its own terms don't fully back it up. It ranks 48 of 65 on price transparency.

The score beside Calibrate's name rates how much it tells you before the medical intake — the price, the pharmacy and the terms — not how cheap it is.

What do you get with Calibrate?

  • An initial video clinician appointment reviewing your health history and lab results
  • One-to-one video coaching alongside a curriculum covering food, exercise, sleep and emotional health
  • Medical and support-team access through the app
  • Insurance-navigation assistance for clinically appropriate GLP-1 prescriptions
  • A connected smart scale and tracking tools
  • Prescription access to branded treatments such as Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound and Mounjaro when appropriate; medication itself is an additional expense

How does Calibrate work?

  1. Check the care and coverage fit

Review the initial commitment, your insurance benefits and the costs of labs and medicine. Employer-sponsored access has separate terms.

  2. Complete onboarding

Provide your health history, arrange labs and attend the initial coaching session before the medical appointment.

  3. Meet the clinician

Discuss the lab results and whether a prescription is appropriate. The care team can pursue coverage, but approval and medication availability are not guaranteed.

  4. Build routines with support

Continue coaching, app tracking and clinical follow-ups. Prescription or dose changes remain decisions for your clinician.

The direct-purchase program advertises $199 per month with a three-month initial commitment: $597 in membership fees paid in monthly installments. After that, it renews one month at a time. Prescription medicines and labs are not included, and the membership itself is not billed to commercial insurance.

  • A three-month payment plan is still a three-month obligation. The membership terms do not waive unpaid initial installments just because you decide to leave.
  • The advertised medication copay of around $25 or less applies to many commercially insured members after their deductible. It is not a guaranteed price, an uninsured quote or the full cost of care.
  • Lab and prescription costs can be higher before a deductible is met. Ask your insurer about the actual benefits rather than budgeting from the advertised copay alone.
  • The cancellation policy offers a request window within 72 hours of the initial purchase for a full membership-fee refund. Otherwise, refunds are limited to the stated exceptions.
  • Give notice at least seven calendar days before the next billing cycle. After the initial term, cancellation is effective at the next applicable billing date under the cancellation policy.
  • The results promise is conditional: eligible self-paying members who complete 12 consecutive months without losing 10% may receive 50% of paid membership fees, excluding medication, labs and other third-party costs. It is not a full refund or a guarantee that everyone will lose 10%.

Who is Calibrate best for?

A good fit if

  • People wanting scheduled coaching as well as prescription management
  • Patients exploring branded GLP-1 coverage through commercial insurance

What are Calibrate's pros and cons?

Pros

  • The care model includes lifestyle coaching rather than prescription access alone
  • Membership pricing and its initial commitment are published before intake
  • Insurance-navigation support is included
  • The terms preserve the ability to send an approved prescription to your chosen pharmacy

Cons

  • The membership is $597 over the initial term before medicine or labs
  • The advertised insured copay may not reflect your deductible or coverage
  • The money-back offer has participation, prior-medication and eligibility conditions
  • Public cancellation shorthand is less complete than the formal initial-term and notice rules

The pharmacy behind the medicine

It does not name its pharmacy. Calibrate does not publicly disclose which compounding pharmacy fills its prescriptions. That is common and it is not an accusation — but it does mean the one thing you would most want to verify about a compounded medicine is the one thing you cannot.

A compounded drug is mixed to order by a pharmacy rather than manufactured and released as a finished product, so the FDA has not reviewed the specific preparation you are prescribed for safety, effectiveness or quality. That is true of every compounded program, including the highest-scoring ones.

What else do people ask about Calibrate?

Does the $199 membership include a GLP-1?

No. Membership pays for the care program; medication and laboratory charges are separate. Insurance may help with those expenses, depending on your plan.

Does Calibrate prescribe compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide?

No. Its current medication page explicitly says it does not prescribe compounded GLP-1 medicines. This is a branded-prescription program.

Can I cancel after the first month?

The initial direct-purchase term is three months, and the terms do not waive the remaining installments. After that, renewal is monthly. The cancellation policy asks for seven days' notice before the next billing cycle.

What does the money-back promise actually refund?

Qualifying members can request 50% of paid membership fees after 12 consecutive months if they have not lost at least 10%. Conditions include self-payment, adherence to the program and no prescription weight-loss treatment in the preceding 12 months. Medication and lab expenses are excluded; continuing members are not eligible.

Is Calibrate available in my state?

Calibrate says it is available in all 50 states and Washington, DC. You must use your primary state of residence and be located there for the clinical appointment. Medical and plan eligibility still apply.

Is its nutrition program a meal-delivery service?

No. Calibrate provides a curriculum and coaching around everyday eating habits rather than shipping meals. The wider program also addresses activity, sleep and emotional health.
