Price transparency
What is disclosed before intake, not a clinical rating.
PreventiveMD offers online clinical review and delivered compounded weight-care prescriptions, alongside a separate route for branded medication. Its lowest displayed monthly equivalents belong to longer plans paid upfront. All plans renew automatically by default, so no membership fee does not mean no recurring payment. A useful distinction is pharmacy choice: the current FAQ names four pharmacies with different shipping restrictions. The selected preparation, pharmacy and paid term need to fit together before the lowest headline becomes a meaningful comparison.

The verdict
Public prices describe specific visits, offers or commitments. They do not establish one unconditional ongoing monthly medication total.
The score beside PreventiveMD's name rates how much it tells you before the medical intake — the price, the pharmacy and the terms — not how cheap it is.

What do you get with PreventiveMD?
- Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide with provider review, medication, supplies, shipping and continuing support described as included. The published approach says prices vary by plan length rather than dose. Ask for the actual complete payment for the chosen term.
- A separate branded pathway displaying a $49 monthly clinical-access fee, with Wegovy or Zepbound medication paid separately. That fee cannot be compared directly with a medicine-inclusive compounded plan or treated as the price of the branded prescription.
- A Care Portal for communicating with the team and managing orders and subscriptions. The FAQ describes options to change renewal dates, pause automatic renewal or cancel, while prepaid supplies can continue to ship after renewal is switched off.
- Pharmacy choices currently naming Empower Pharmacy, Midwest Compounders Pharmacy, Drug Crafters and Boudreaux’s New Drug Store. Individual pharmacy coverage differs from platform coverage, so a pharmacy shown in the catalog may not be available for the chosen address.
How does PreventiveMD work?
Compare complete plan payments
The semaglutide and tirzepatide headlines are as-low-as monthly figures. Longer terms are paid upfront. Request the complete amount due, number of supplied months, exact preparation and next renewal charge. Compare both the initial and renewal periods with another provider using the same duration. A lower monthly equivalent can still require a substantially larger immediate payment.
Confirm state and pharmacy access
The FAQ excludes Alaska, Arkansas, the District of Columbia, Mississippi, New Jersey, New Mexico, South Dakota and West Virginia, and excludes territories. Pharmacy restrictions add another layer. Ask which dispenser can supply the proposed preparation where you will receive care and delivery. Changing pharmacies later may require a new available option and another clinical or fulfillment check.
Understand authorization and clinical review
Checkout places a temporary card authorization. The policy says the charge is captured after provider approval and the hold is released if not approved or canceled before review finishes. Your bank controls when released funds become available. Provide complete medical information, including prior prescriptions, and ask how to reach the assigned clinician if more information is needed.
Set the actual renewal date
The FAQ describes check-in reminders five days before renewal for shorter plans, with separate refill reviews during longer prepaid terms. Cancel automatic renewal before the next charge and retain confirmation. If a payment has already been collected, immediately ask whether clinical review or pharmacy processing has begun; switching off future renewal alone does not refund the current term.
How much does PreventiveMD cost?
Compounded semaglutide advertised as low as $83/month with longer prepaid terms; branded Wegovy clinical access $49/month plus medication; ongoing month-to-month total not established.
Compounded tirzepatide advertised as low as $97/month with longer prepaid terms; branded Zepbound clinical access $49/month plus medication; ongoing month-to-month total not established.
Confirm clinical service and location eligibility. Most US states; excludes AK, AR, DC, MS, NJ, NM, SD, WV and territories; pharmacy-specific restrictions also apply
The current homepage displays compounded semaglutide as low as $83 per month and tirzepatide as low as $97 per month. It explains that longer plans are prepaid, while branded medication uses a separate $49 monthly access fee plus pharmacy costs. Those different structures do not establish one unrestricted continuing calendar-month total. The complete ongoing cost depends on the selected package, upfront payment and renewal terms.
- The policy distinguishes a temporary authorization from a collected payment. Keep the approval and payment confirmations so that a pending bank entry can be interpreted accurately.
- Clinical services become nonrefundable after review begins, and pharmacy processing creates a separate cutoff. The exact status matters more than whether a package has reached the carrier.
- Cancellation stops future renewals and keeps the already paid term in place. A charged renewal may qualify for reversal before the relevant pharmacy cutoff; obtain an order-specific answer promptly.
- The policy requests damage or fulfillment-error reports within seven days and refund requests within 30 days of the charge. Preserve photographs and packaging and ask the pharmacy about any questionable product before use.

What are PreventiveMD's pros and cons?
Pros
- The policy explains authorization and charge timing
- The FAQ names pharmacy options and their state restrictions
- Renewals can be managed through the patient account
Cons
- The lowest figures require a plan-length qualification
- Automatic renewal applies by default
- Refund eligibility narrows once clinical or pharmacy work begins
The pharmacy behind the medicine
It names its pharmacy. PreventiveMD discloses Empower Pharmacy, Midwest Compounders Pharmacy, Drug Crafters, Boudreaux’s New Drug Store as its compounding partners. That matters more here than the price does: a compounded medicine is only as good as the pharmacy that made it, and a company willing to name one is a company you can go and check.
A compounded drug is mixed to order by a pharmacy rather than manufactured and released as a finished product, so the FDA has not reviewed the specific preparation you are prescribed for safety, effectiveness or quality. That is true of every compounded program, including the highest-scoring ones.
What else do people ask about PreventiveMD?
Is $83 the amount charged every month?
It is an as-low-as monthly equivalent for compounded semaglutide. PreventiveMD says longer plans are paid upfront. Ask for the actual first payment and the complete renewal amount, rather than multiplying a headline yourself. Keep the selected term and supply duration together when comparing offers.
Does the $49 branded plan include medication?
No. The branded pathway lists a monthly clinical-access fee plus the cost of medication. Obtain a separate pharmacy quote and any insurance conditions for the actual prescribed brand. The price for access does not become a medicine-inclusive price simply because a brand appears beside it.
Can I choose the pharmacy?
The FAQ offers pharmacy choice where the pharmacy serves your state, naming Empower, Midwest Compounders, Drug Crafters and Boudreaux’s New Drug Store. Confirm the actual preparation, dispenser and delivery eligibility before payment. A platform’s overall availability does not establish every pharmacy and product at every address.
What happens if the clinician does not approve treatment?
The policy describes releasing the temporary authorization rather than capturing a charge. Your bank determines how quickly the pending hold disappears. Ask for confirmation of the clinical decision and payment status, especially if a banking app presents a pending authorization as an approved transaction.
How do I stop another renewal?
Use the account controls or contact support before the renewal date. Obtain confirmation and check that it applies to the intended plan. Canceling automatic renewal does not by itself undo a prepaid term or a charge already processed, and prepaid shipments can continue through the paid period.
Can I get a refund after paying?
Timing controls eligibility. Clinical review and pharmacy processing each create restrictions, while fulfillment errors have separate remedies. Ask which part of the order has been performed and request an itemized decision. The policy does not establish an unconditional satisfaction refund after receiving prescribed medication.
