Price transparency
What is disclosed before intake, not a clinical rating.
Amazon One Medical offers two different weight-care routes: cash-pay On-Demand Care and Scheduled Visits through its primary-care service. The distinction matters more than the familiar Amazon name. The current on-demand offer advertises care from $39, but medication and laboratory costs are separate, and on-demand weight care does not handle prior authorizations. It is a potentially convenient option for eligible cash-pay adults who understand the follow-up window, rather than a single monthly prescription subscription or an automatic benefit of One Medical membership.

The verdict
Public prices describe specific visits, offers or commitments. They do not establish one unconditional ongoing monthly medication total.
The score beside Amazon One Medical's name rates how much it tells you before the medical intake — the price, the pharmacy and the terms — not how cheap it is.

What do you get with Amazon One Medical?
- An online assessment and care summary from a licensed clinician through One Medical professional corporations and affiliated clinical providers. Paying for assessment does not guarantee a particular prescription or treatment recommendation.
- Branded prescription pathways including Wegovy and Zepbound, with the clinician choosing an appropriate option. If prescribed, medication can be sent to the patient’s selected pharmacy, including Amazon Pharmacy.
- A 14-day follow-up messaging window after an on-demand care summary. Further treatment adjustments or questions after that window can require a new treatment request; it is not indefinite medical messaging for one visit payment.
- A separate Scheduled Visits route for people seeking primary-care coordination, insurance-billable visits and potential prior-authorization assistance. It has a different financial arrangement from the on-demand cash pathway.
How does Amazon One Medical work?
Decide how you intend to pay
If your medication requires insurance prior authorization, consider the Scheduled Visits or regular primary-care route before starting On-Demand Care. The weight-care page expressly says On-Demand Care does not support prior authorizations. Ask your insurer what documentation is needed and whether the chosen clinician can provide it; a low visit price is less useful if it cannot support your coverage pathway.
Check the specific online eligibility
The current on-demand weight-care page describes adults aged 18 to 64, relevant kidney-function and blood-sugar labs, and a population without diabetes. Other health conditions can require in-person care or make this route unsuitable. Answer the medical intake accurately and keep laboratory results available. General One Medical services and the specific on-demand weight program need not have identical eligibility.
Compare actual visit, test and medication costs
The care starting price excludes prescribed medicine and lab work. Ask for the exact assessment charge, any needed tests, the product and dose price at your selected pharmacy, and the conditions behind a manufacturer coupon. Prime status or an introductory offer can affect one component without establishing a universal total. Budget for possible future clinical assessments as well.
Use follow-up and plan the next assessment
Keep the care summary and use the included messaging window for questions about the treatment, pharmacy access or adjustments. The first available care-team member can review that history; continuity does not necessarily mean the same clinician each time. If more assessment is needed after the window, request another treatment or arrange care with your regular clinician rather than assuming refills continue automatically.
How much does Amazon One Medical cost?
On-Demand clinical care starts at $39; Wegovy and labs are separate, with qualified pharmacy savings; ongoing month-to-month total not established.
On-Demand clinical care starts at $39; Zepbound and labs are separate, with qualified pharmacy savings; ongoing month-to-month total not established.
Company advertises treatment-dependent access: Specific On-Demand weight-care eligibility age18–64, US supported states; Direct Message Care varies by state; confirm route
The current page advertises clinical care from $39 and conditional medication savings from $149, with medication and labs explicitly separate. These are component prices, not a complete continuing medication package. Visit type, medication, dose, tests and savings eligibility all affect the actual continuing bill. Do not add two starting figures and present the result as a guaranteed monthly total.
- On-demand weight-care treatments are not included as a One Medical membership benefit according to the specific FAQ. Membership, scheduled insurance-billable visits and cash-pay on-demand requests are distinct purchases.
- Manufacturer savings have eligibility restrictions, dose differences and possible expiration. The page specifically lists government-benefit exclusions for the illustrated coupons. A pharmacy savings example should remain attached to its actual terms.
- The help page distinguishes inability to treat through the service, which may result in cancellation without charge, from a completed assessment recommending something other than the requested prescription, which does not automatically qualify for a refund.
- The medical terms make patients responsible for applicable assessment charges regardless of treatment outcome. Any separate primary-care membership has its own renewal and cancellation settings; stopping one service does not necessarily stop the others.

What are Amazon One Medical's pros and cons?
Pros
- The current page clearly separates clinical and medication charges
- A defined 14-day messaging window is explained
- Cash-pay and primary-care insurance routes are distinguished
Cons
- On-demand weight care does not support prior authorizations
- Medication, tests and later assessments can increase the total
- One Medical membership does not automatically include this treatment
The pharmacy behind the medicine
It names its pharmacy. Amazon One Medical discloses Amazon Pharmacy as its compounding partner. That matters more here than the price does: a compounded medicine is only as good as the pharmacy that made it, and a company willing to name one is a company you can go and check.
A compounded drug is mixed to order by a pharmacy rather than manufactured and released as a finished product, so the FDA has not reviewed the specific preparation you are prescribed for safety, effectiveness or quality. That is true of every compounded program, including the highest-scoring ones.
What else do people ask about Amazon One Medical?
Does the starting visit price include medicine?
No. The weight-care page excludes medication and laboratory work from clinical care pricing. Get the actual prescribed product, dose and pharmacy quote as well as the assessment charge. A conditional coupon example is not a complete budget for continued care, especially if another visit or testing is needed.
Is this covered by my One Medical membership?
The specific weight-care FAQ says on-demand weight treatment is not an included membership benefit. Members near an office can explore scheduled primary-care visits instead, with applicable insurance billing and separate medication costs. Check which service you are selecting before assuming that an existing membership removes the visit charge.
Can On-Demand Care request insurance prior authorization?
The current weight-care page says it does not. It recommends a primary-care route when insurance coverage for the medication is important. Before paying, ask your insurer what authorization is required and which clinician will manage it. Access to a prescription and an insurer’s decision to pay are separate steps.
How much follow-up is included?
After an on-demand care summary, the service describes 14 days of follow-up messaging with the care team. Questions or treatment changes after that window can require a new treatment request. Keep the care summary and ask how the expected refill schedule aligns with that window before planning a long course of care.
Can I choose my pharmacy?
The weight-care page describes sending an issued prescription to the pharmacy you choose. Amazon Pharmacy is an available option rather than the only disclosed destination. Compare the actual dose cost, stock and delivery arrangements, and use the care-team or receiving-pharmacy process if a prescription needs to be transferred.
Will I get a refund if the clinician declines the medicine I want?
Not automatically. Help materials distinguish an inability to treat through the service from a completed clinical assessment that recommends a different approach. Refund requests are reviewed under the applicable policy, and the medical terms describe responsibility for assessment charges. Ask about the specific situation rather than treating a visit payment as a purchase of a prescription.
